BOUNKHONG SIGNAVONG
My artwork consists of one-of-a-kind textiles from silk and cotton.
The yarns or garments are hand-dyed by me using only natural ingredients and are hand-woven on a traditional loom.

My products include unique fashion objects, like jackets, kimonos, shirts, and dresses. Shawls and scarves are manufactured in my studio as limited edition, bigger shawls are often unique. Over-sized silk shawls are also appreciated as home furnishings. The motifs in my textiles have been influenced by the spiritual power of Buddhism.
Recently, I have put particular efforts in creating textiles in multiple shades of indigo, all naturally dyed using plants and other natural sources. Traditional pattern have been artfully integrated into uniquely designed formal and every-day wear, and accessories.

My understanding of art-to-wear is creating a unique contemporary style different from the commercialized fashion.
